KUCHING, April 27: Two Maybank employees at the bank’s Kapit branch tested positive for Covid-19 recently.
According to Maybank Sibu in a notice to clients yesterday, Maybank Kapit is closed from April 26 until further notice.
The bank disclosed that the employees who tested positive for Covid-19 were on annual leave and their last working day at the Kapit branch were on April 16 and April 21, respectively.
Maybank Sibu said upon receiving the information of the positive cases, the branch had immediately closed for sanitation and cleaning.
It added that screening of close contacts were being carried out and staff who had direct close contact with the Covid-19 positive employees were ordered to undergo 14-days self quarantine at home.
They are also required to undergo a Covid-19 swab test before they are allowed to return to work as per the guidelines from the Ministry of Health (MoH). — DayakDaily
