Two dead, one critically injured in accident near Lambir waterfall

MIRI, Oct 29: A two-vehicle crash near the Lambir waterfall caused two deaths and left a woman fighting for her life.

The cars collided at Mile 14 Jalan Bintulu-Miri, today.

According to the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operations centre, nine firefighters were despatched to the scene after they received an emergency call at 4.49pm.


A four-wheel drive pickup with four passengers was heading towards Miri while a Perodua Viva, also carrying four passengers, was on its way towards Bintulu when the fatal accident occurred.

The two fatalities were a male driver and a female passenger in the front seat of the car.

Firefighters were tasked to assist another female passenger, who suffered serious injuries and was trapped in the back seat, while another male passenger suffered minor injuries.
