28 Covid-19 fatalities reported in Sarawak today with 1 BID

KUCHING, Oct 12:  The State Disaster Management Committee has reported 28 fatalities related to Covid-19 today, with one case backdated 12 days ago to Sept 30.

Of the 28 cases today where the victims’ age ranged between 58 and 99, two cases were reported where the victims did not have known health conditions or illnesses. 

There was also one case involving a 58-year-old man in Kuching who suffered from gout and Parkinsons Disease. 


The rest of the 25 Covid-19 victims all showed medical records of at least one underlying health condition of high blood pressure.

Many suffered from a combination of high blood pressure with other illnesses or health conditions such as diabetes, dislipidemia, kidney failure, cancer, obesity and heart illnesses.

There was however, one brought-in-dead (BID) involving a 67-year-old woman who passed away in Kuching. 

She had comorbidities of high blood pressure and diabetes.

Of all the districts reporting deaths today, Kuching topped the list with seven deaths, followed by Miri (6) and Sarikei (4).  

Other districts reporting Covid-19 fatalities were Betong which reported three cases, Sri Aman (3), Bintulu (3) as well as Sibu and Serian with one case each.  — DayakDaily
