ULU BARAM, March 15: The Three Sisters Waterfall in Long San here is said to be frequented by gorgeous elves (‘orang bunian’) and an elderly male elf carrying a cane who seemed like their guardian.
Four different empaths who had visited this waterfall, which is situated within Kampung Long San on Keluan Hill, claimed to have seen different elves at different corners of the cascades.
According to Jevinda Village Stay owner Linda, one of the empaths said he had seen two beautiful elf ladies playing in the water while the elderly male elf was sitting on the rock as if watching over them.
“He said the two beautiful elf women were wearing ‘sarung’ and gold bangles on their arms, with yellow flowers placed behind their ears.
“Another one of our regular guests said he saw an old man and a little girl, both elves who looked exactly like us (humans), somewhere around the middle waterfall there,” Linda told DayakDaily last night (March 14).
Other two empaths, she said, witnessed a group of teenage elves peering down from the top of the right cascade.
Linda’s husband, Sylvester, who is responsible for bringing tourists around on waterfall trips, said all the sightings occurred during the daytime when they arrived at Three Sisters Waterfall.
“Like what the Iban would say, the waterfall is still ‘latong’ (wild and undisturbed).
“For example, whenever I bring visitors there, and people say ‘jom, makan-makan’ (come and eat), the sky would instantly turn dark, and rain would fall.
“Even if there were no rain, the water level would rise, and I would have to bring the visitors out from there. This is what I’ve noticed every time,” he said.
On other occasions, when the visitors cheered and shouted at the waterfall, Sylvester said the weather would change in the same manner.
“Even during hot seasons, every single time I bring tourists there, surely it would rain as if the place is being washed,” he added.
Three Sisters Waterfall, named after its three beautiful cascades, is one of the most popular tourist spots here in Long San.
