KUCHING, Oct 9: Head of the State Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud officiated at the launching ceremony for two books published by Dato Prof (Dr) Lau Siu Wai at a hotel here.
According to a news report from Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas) today, the two books titled “The Man of The Iron Will” and “He, The Little Boy From Chaozou” were written and self-published by Lau as the executive chairman of Miri Housing Group.
In congratulating Lau, Taib also said that he has known the former since the 80’s and he was a very active individual in community activities.
During the ceremony, Taib also presented book vouchers from Popular Bookstore Malaysia to 44 schools with a total value of RM50,000.
Also present were Taib’s wife, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Raghad Kurdi Taib, Sarawak Transport Minister Dato Sri Lee Kim Shin, Deputy Minister of Food Industry, Commodities and Development of Sarawak Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Ismail, and Deputy Minister of Tourism, Creative Industries and Arts Datuk Sebastian Ting Chew Yew. — DayakDaily
