SWP gives the thumbs up to Abg Jo’s monthly RM250 aid

KUCHING, March 23: Despite their political differences, Sarawak Workers Party (SWP) has given the thumbs up to the special incentives announced by the state government to help the people pull through the Movement Control Order (MCO).

SWP acting deputy president David Munan praised chief minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg for what the party deemed as “doing what is good for the people of Sarawak”, especially during the trying times amid the Covid-19 outbreak.

He opined that the monthly RM250 cash incentive for the B40 group will benefit the low income households to make ends meet.

“However, SWP would like to propose that this incentive be made permanent instead of just a temporary thing or a one off.

“These group are the one that really need help and assistance,” he said, while adding that Sarawak is a rich state, hence the state government can afford to help.

David added that the M40 are also critical group, especially those living in the cities or bigger towns.

“The M40 must not be overlooked either. SWP would like to propose to Abang Johari to extend a RM200 special incentive for this group,” he said. — DayakDaily
