S’wakian students in Malaya briefed on State govt’s approach to socio-economic, human capital devt

KUCHING, Dec 19: A total of 25 Sarawakian students in Peninsular Malaysia were briefed on the State government’s approach to socio-economic and opportunities in human capital development in Sarawak.

Ministry for Education, Innovation and Talent Development (MEITD) Sarawak, in a statement today, said the students were acquainted on the matter during a meeting session with its deputy minister, Datuk Dr Annuar Rapaee, in Kuala Lumpur today.

It added that the session also aimed to create a platform for the students to express their needs and issues while studying away from home and foster a close relationship between Sarawak student representatives and the Ministry.

The students who took part in the session are from six universities, namely, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), Universiti Islam Antarabangsa (UIA), Management and Science University (MSU), Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI), and Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT).

Also present were the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary Azmi Bujang, Sarawak Government Relation Officer from Rumah Sarawak in Kuala Lumpur, Awang Supian Awang Daud, and officers from MEITD and Rumah Sarawak. — DayakDaily
