KUCHING, March 17: Angkatan Zaman Mansang Sarawak (Azam Sarawak) will partner with Sarawak Multimedia Authority (SMA) to carry out digital awareness activities and programmes in Sarawak.
In revealing this, SMA general manager Dr Zaidi Razak asserted that making Azam Sarawak a partner showed that the Sarawak government is committed to intensifying digital development, especially to achieve the goals of the Post-Covid-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030.
“The year 2023 will feature SMA as a body that will develop and implement monitoring of digital implementation and help spread the understanding and initiatives of other government agencies such as iSarawak Care, Open Data Portal, Smart city initiative and Digital Community Centre (DCC),” he shared.
He said this in a statement after an interview on the local radio programme, ‘Selamat Pagi Sarawak’, today.
“The development of competent talent with current technology among the Sarawak community can give confidence to investors from outside to improve the region’s economy,” he opined.
Meanwhile, in the same interview, Azam Sarawak’s communications officer Hassnal Hakim said the Digital Inclusion Programme to be held involves collaborations with the Resident and District Offices and the local government, which will include 150-200 community members.
He shared that another programme that will be held introduces the function of the DCC to speed up the digitization process for Sarawakians by allowing them to use the digital facilities provided.
“This programme is more focused and digital, involving 15 to 35 participants in a one-day programme specific to digital entrepreneurship, e-government services, and digital content creation.
“These programmes will meet the community in Sri Aman, Lingga on March 20 and 21, Dalat in the third week of May, and Long Lama in the third week of June,” he said. — DayakDaily
