KUCHING, Oct 29: Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas lauds the State Financial Secretary’s Office for taking steps in facilitating the realisation of Sarawak’s Post Covid-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030.
According to Uggah in a statement today, the office has initiated its revenue re-engineering to seek new income sources to increase the State revenue.
“Its establishment of Sarawak Sovereign Future Wealth for education and raising the standard of living of Sarawakians is also a milestone.
“Then, there is the setting up of the e-procurement system beside the Integrated Asset Management system, and among others, the office had obtained the MS ISO 9001 certification in 2021,” he said officiating at the State Financial Secretary’s excellent service award presentation-cum-farewell gathering held at a local hotel yesterday.
Uggah, also the Second Finance and New Economy Minister, said that the officers and staff’s total commitment, dedication, close cooperation, and high achievement work culture in the public sector financial management had allowed Sarawak to register a revenue of RM12 billion last year.
He also said for 21 consecutive years from 2002, Sarawak had obtained the ‘Sijil Bersih’ from the National Audit Head, which is another great achievement.
“Sarawak had enjoyed commendable investment-grade credit ratings from international bodies such as Moody’s and Standard & Poor’s.
“Thus, I urge all of you to continue with this excellent momentum. Be always mindful and responsive in meeting the many challenges in pushing ahead with the government’s transformation agendas.
“Also, be open to new ideas, technological advancement, and other changes as people’s expectations always increase. I am confident that under the leadership of the State Financial Secretary Datuk Sri Wan Lizozman Wan Omar, the office will rise to greater heights,” he said. — DayakDaily
