BAU, Oct 10: Tasik Biru assemblyman Datuk Henry Harry Jinep today issues an ultimatum to the village chiefs and Village Security and Development Committees (JKKK) secretaries to support the government of the day.
This, he said, was to ensure the villages under their care will receive grants from the government for development purposes.
“There is no two ways about it, either you (village chiefs and secretaries) support the government of the day (Gabungan Parti Sarawak) or step down”, Henry said.
He said this at the presentation ceremony of appointment letters to 57 JKKK secretaries from Opar and Tasik Biru state constituencies at Civic Centre, here.
Henry said support and cooperation from JKKK and grassroots levels is to ensure continuity in receiving grants to develop their villages, otherwise they would be deprived of development.
“JKKK must stay with GPS government and give the mandate this coming election, there should be no second thought about this,” he asserted.
Henry also advised JKKK secretaries to work together with the village chiefs of their respective villages or step down if they refused to do so.
Meanwhile, he advised JKKK to prepare checklists for their respective villages.
The checklists, he said must include the projects they have requested, and those yet to be carried out, as well as proposed projects.
“As we enter the 12th Malaysia Plan next year, the checklists will enable us to do a proper development planning,” he said.
