KUCHING, May 22: Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) will set up the Sa’Ati Education Foundation to help primary, secondary and university students.
SUPP president Dato Seri Dr Sim Kui Hian revealed this was the resolution passed during the party’s 25th Triennial Delegates Conference (TDC) today.
“Apart from that, together with Sarakup Indu Dayak Sarawak (SIDS), we also set up an education fund in name of Barbara Mendu Bay and have raised RM100,000 from our delegates.
“It is to honour our previous founder who has done a lot of good works for the Bumiputera community,” he told reporters during a press conference held at Sa’Ati Hall in the SUPP headquarters, here today.
He pointed out that Barbara Mendu was a founding member of SUPP, and she was also the first SIDS president. — DayakDaily
