KUCHING, Jan 18: A landowner at Kampung Sudat whose land was fraudulently transferred without his knowledge is glad that his case is in the final stage of investigation and all the alleged perpetrators will be charged soon by the police.

SUPP Public Complaints Bureau (SPCB) chief Wilfred Yap said earlier, the landowner and a non-governmental organisation (NGO) came to see him as they were not happy with the progress of the investigation and prosecution of the case by the police.

In a statement today, Yap revealed that Society for Tolerance & Awareness Kuching and the landowner had also lodged a complaint with the Advocates Association of Sarawak in order for them to take action against the lawyer involved in the land deal.

“The local NGO and the individual concerned also requested for SPCB’s assistance to inquire from the Attorney-General Chambers Malaysia and Advocates Association of Sarawak on the current status of the case, and they had swift replies within a short time of two days only,” he said.

Yap said SUPP Public Complaints Bureau would monitor the progress of the case to make sure that justice is done in accordance with the Rule of Law.
