KUCHING, March 19: The Kuching South City Council (MBKS) stadium will host the basketball event, while the kabaddi and beach volleyball events will be held in Lundu for the upcoming Malaysia Games (Sukma) 2024.
According to Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas) in two news reports today, a site visit was conducted at the MBKS stadium yesterday (March 18) to monitor and evaluate the facilities which need to be upgraded in preparation for Sukma this August.
MBKS disclosed that there will be an open tender process for contractors to upgrade the stadium, with work expected to be completed by August.
Meanwhile, on Sunday (March 17), a site visit was conducted in Lundu to identify locations for the sports events to be held there.
Kabaddi, a contact-based sport, will be held from Aug 20 to 23 at the Lundu Community Hall, while beach volleyball will be held from Aug 17 to 23 at the YES Union Retreat Resort Lundu.
Earlier, it was reported that Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) will host the rhythmic gymnastics event. — DayakDaily
