KUCHING, March 19: Police have apprehended a 25-year-old man along with 10kg of the drug methamphetamine in his car in Bintulu today.
Narcotics Crime Investigation Department (NCID) director CP Dato Khaw Kok Chin reported that a team of officers from the NCID Sarawak Contingent headquarters also conducted a raid on a shop, seizing 170 packets of juice containing ecstasy powder and 577 grammes of ecstasy pills.
“The drugs, suspected to be intended for the local market, are estimated to be worth RM412,198.72.
“The quantity of drugs seized is estimated to be sufficient for the use of 68,923 drug abusers,” he said in a statement after holding a press conference at the Sarawak police headquarters today.
Additionally, authorities also seized a Mercedes-Benz vehicle valued at RM150,000 and a Rolex watch worth RM37,000.
An application for the suspect’s remand will be submitted tomorrow (March 20).
