Student nabbed for allegedly threatening teacher with fake gun

MIRI, Sept 11: A male student was detained by police on Tuesday afternoon, after he allegedly pointed what is believed to be a fake gun at his female teacher.

The incident reportedly occurred during an electronics class at an institute in Lutong around 9.15am.


The preliminary investigation revealed that the 22 year-old student flew into a rage after he was questioned about his homework by the teacher.

Following the incident, the teacher lodged a police report, said Miri Police chief ACP Lim Meng Seah.

The case is being investigated under Section 506 of the Penal Code for criminal intimidation and Section 36 of the Arms Act 1960.

The student has been remanded until Sept 11 to assist police investigations. — DayakDaily
