State govt looking into setting up temporary respiratory clinic in Kuching

KUCHING, March 22: The state government is exploring the possibility of setting up a temporary respiratory clinic in the city soon.

Minister of Local Government and Housing Datuk Seri Dr Sim Kui Hian said the state health department is looking at the possibility of setting up a temporary respiratory clinic in the city in the next two days.


“Anyone with respiratory complaints can visit the clinic.

“We would like to thank the public for continuing to abide by the various measures introduced under the Movement Control Order.

“Please stay at home.” he said.

On another note, State Disaster Management Committee chairman Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas has told all private hospitals to refer their patients with novel coronavirus (Covid-19) infection symptoms to government hospitals for treatment.

He disclosed that there were 125 people placed at six quarantine centres throughout the state yesterday.

Uggah noted that Kuching has the highest number at 37 followed by Sibu with 29 and Miri with 23, while Limbang has 13 and Lawas has 19.

On another note, he advised the public who want to undergo Covid-19 health screening to head to the state Youth and Sports Complex here.
