KUCHING, June 7: Six men were arrested during the ‘Ops Dadu’ raid for involving in cockfighting activity at Namlung Garden, Jalan Fairy Cave, Bau near here late Saturday morning.
Bau District Police chief DSP Poge Nyaon said a team of police from the Crime Investigation Department (CID) Bau branch raided the place around 11 am.
“We had raided the facility and had arrested six men who were involved in the activity,” he said in a press statement.
“We had confiscated six fighting cocks, two dead fighting cocks, a unit of weighting scale and also a knife,” Poge added.
He said that all the suspects had no criminal records and were arrested under Sec 3(1) Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act 1962.
“The suspects will also be charged with Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act 2020,” he added. –DayakDaily.
