Sheda and govt agencies to hold strata management seminars on newly effective legislation Statewide

'Your Essential Guide to Strata Management & Maintenance in Sarawak’ seminars will be held in Kuching, Sibu, Bintulu, and Miri.

KUCHING, Aug 16: Sarawak Housing and Real Estate Developers’ Association (Sheda), together with the Ministry of Public Health, Housing and Local Government (MPHLG) and Land & Survey Department Sarawak (L&S) are jointly organising a series of seminars on strata management across Sarawak.

Titled ‘Your Essential Guide to Strata Management & Maintenance in Sarawak’, the seminars will be held in Kuching, Sibu, Bintulu, and Miri to explain salient points and guide stakeholders through relevant provisions of the Strata Management Ordinance 2019, Strata (Management and Maintenance) Regulations 2022 and the Strata (Subsidiary Titles) Ordinance 2019, which came into effect earlier this year.

According to a statement, Deputy Premier Dato Sri Dr Sim Kui Hian, who is also the Public Health, Housing and Local Government Minister, will officiate at the opening of the seminar in Miri on Aug 22.


“The objectives of these joint seminars are to provide participants with credible information, to minimise speculation and uncertainty in processes and procedures, and to increase the confidence of stakeholders in the applying new legislation.

“This is an opportunity not to be missed as participants will be able to get answers with regards to strata management and maintenance in Sarawak directly from MPHLG and L&S. Besides property developers, management corporations, property managers and the legal profession, the seminar will also be useful for other industry players such as surveyors and architects, as well as local authorities, bankers, real estate agents and parcel owners,” the statement read.
