Senator: Give PM mandate in GE16 to steer Malaysia free from corruption

Senator Abun Sui Anyit

KUCHING, Jan 12: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim should be given another mandate in the 16th General Election (GE16) to steer Malaysia free from corruption.

In a press statement today, Senator Abun Sui Anyit said as citizens who love the country and yearn for a better Malaysia, everyone should back the Prime Minister in the fight to eliminate corruption and improve the country’s governance.

“If we cannot be involved directly and closely, at least we can pray for the Prime Minister, the police, the Malaysian Anti Corruption Commission (MACC), Bank Negara and other bodies directly involved in fighting corruption,” he said.

Citing Singapore as an example, he said it is a progressive country because of its stern actions against corruption.

As such, he said that the rakyat should work together and be united in fighting those who are richly corrupted.

“We have no choice but to support the current Prime Minister, who has a moral basis to eliminate corruption in the country,” he added. — DayakDaily
