KUCHING, April 21: There are no signs of cracks between the political parties in the unity government, says Prime Minister Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

The Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) president said that Federal Cabinet members do not face any sort of rifts with one another although there are voices coming from outside the Cabinet that do not represent their leadership.

“I have to admit that there are matters that we have to discuss outside the Cabinet but so far, there is no signs of even the smallest crack among Pakatan Harapan (PH), United Malays National Organisation (UMNO) or Barisan National (BN) as a whole, as well as Sabah and Sarawak.

“There are only some ‘desperados’ who attempted to criticise and I tell them ‘good luck and goodbye it will not work’.

“For me, so far, the current government is still stable and strong,” he said when officiating at the 25th PKR Convention held in Shah Alam, Selangor today, which was livestreamed online.

He was commenting on criticism from certain quarters on several issues including Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi’s affidavit in support of former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s application to serve his jail sentence under house arrest.

He further acknowledged that there are critics who claimed that the current government has done nothing which led to the suffering of people, of which he responded: “The people who are ‘suffering’ are only the high-ranking individuals who rob the people’s money.”

He also said all the ministers and the leadership of the unity government whether it is Zahid, Premier of Sarawak Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg or Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Hajiji Noor, are of the same stance and agree that if any of them violates the principles of governance and are involved in corrupt practices, they would voluntarily come out and face the law. — DayakDaily
