KUCHING, April 21: Sarawak Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) deputy chief Senator Abun Sui Anyit has called on critics to be fair to Prime Minister Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim when it comes to realising the reform agenda.

He concurred with several political analysts who understand the obstacles faced by Anwar as the PKR president and Pakatan Harapan (PH) chairman in implementing the promised reform agenda.

ā€œThe critics must be fair to Anwar Ibrahim because PH does not lead the current federal government but the unity government, which comprises 18 political parties.

ā€œIf Malaysians long for Anwar Ibrahim and PHā€™s true and reformed government, I am sure the people will easily guess what and how it can happen.

ā€œAt least this Madani government is implementing good governance, and the current leader of the federal government is no longer grabbing money from the people,ā€ he said in a statement uploaded to his Facebook post today.

Abun Sui further opined that the opposition should play a role in ensuring checks and balances to help the country move forward and not slander Anwar just to gain quick fame.

He also advised party leaders in the Unity government to strongly support Anwarā€™s leadership instead of acting inappropriately by giving free ammunition to the opposition.

ā€œDo not abuse Anwar Ibrahimā€™s freedom and patient and forgiving nature for your own benefit, but speak up to launch the government’s administration for the benefit of the people as a whole,ā€ he added.

In the same Facebook post, Abun Sui also shared a video uploaded by KiniTV, which featured political analysts Dr Azmi Hassan and Dr Mazlan Ali and former minister Khairy Jamaluddin expressing their views on PKRā€™s dilemma and challenges in delivering its reform agenda. ā€” DayakDaily
