Self-employed man jailed for drug possession

KUCHING, July 2: A 28-year-old self-employed man was fined RM10,000, in default 6 months’ imprisonment, for drug possession by the Sessions Court today.

Accused Paul Teo pleaded guilty to the charge framed under Section 6 of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, which carries a fine not exceeding RM20,000 or imprisonment not exceeding 5 years or both, if convicted.


He was found with 18.74 grammes of cannabis without lawful authorisation in a house in Jalan Kepayang at about 10.45pm on April 29 this year.
