Sarawak records 3 BIDs, Covid-19 daily cases remain above 1,000 today

KUCHING, March 23: Sarawak has logged three brought-in-dead (BID) cases today, aged between 50 and 79 from Kuching.

According to reports by the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC), the 50-year-old man from Kuching had no known illnesses in his medical records.


The other two victims, aged 78 and 79, were from Kuching, and both had hypertension, diabetes and dyslipidemia.

Meanwhile, Sarawak registered another 1,252 new Covid-19 cases today, pushing the cumulative number up to 291,459.

In terms of clinical categories, there were 334 Category 1’s, 913 Category 2’s, one Category 3, and two each classified under Category 4 and 5.

District-wise, Kuching remained the biggest contributor, recording 408 cases while Miri and Bintulu reported 202 and 130 cases, respectively.

Those with double-digit case numbers were Sibu (91), Serian (75), Samarahan (60), Sarikei (38), Bau (32), Sri Aman (24), Mukah (20), Betong (15), Subis (14), Limbang (13), Tebedu (13), Kabong (12), and Saratok (11).

Other districts with new infections included Tanjung Manis (8), Matu, Pakan, Lundu, Kanowit (8 each), Simunjan, Dalat, Asajaya (7 each), Marudi (5), Pusa, Lubok Antu, Meradong (4 each), Julau, Kapit (3 each), Lawas, Telang Usan, Selangau (2 each), Beluru, Tatau, and Daro (1 each).
