KUCHING, Feb 15: The Rural Water Supply Department is advising residents in the Samarahan area to store up water and reduce water usage on Feb 18 to 19.

The government department in a media statement said contractors will start connecting work for the main water pipes from Summer Mall Complex to the Tambirat Water Booster Pump Station from 10 pm on Tuesday (Feb 18) to 6 am on Wednesday (Feb 19).

As a result of the water pipes connection work, it pointed out that the water supply in Asajaya district and some areas in Sadong Jaya which include Kampung Sui and Kampung Sungai Buluh will experience water supply disruption.

Therefore, it reminded residents at the Samarahan area to be prepared for the water supply disruption.

Nonetheless, the Rural Water Supply Department disclosed that its Samarahan Division’s office was prepared to deliver water to those areas that will be highly affected by the water supply disruption for instance, clinics and schools.

The department said it will monitor the situation closely.

Residents can view any updates from the department’s Facebook page and its Samarahan Division’s office Facebook account.

For enquiries and complaints, members of the public can contact Tamida Da’adi (Samarahan Division’s Engineer) at 013-8115351, Rural Water Supply Department Samarahan Division’s office at 082-672838 or send a WhatsApp to its hotline at 010-2820750. —DayakDaily
