KUCHING, July 13: Taiyo Yuden (Sarawak) Sdn Bhd, HGST Malaysia Sdn Bhd, IMM Technology Sdn Bhd and LONGi Kuching Sdn Bhd have expansion plans in Sama Jaya High Tech Park totalling RM6.31 billion.
The plans were revealed to Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan in a virtual meeting today.
These electrical and electronics (E&E) companies have performed well even during the Covid-19 pandemic due to high demand globally for E&E related products such as solar, multilayer ceramic capacitors, aluminium substrates and copperfoil.
Despite the Covid-19 pandemic, these multinational corporations in Sama Jaya have proceeded with their huge expansion plans, reflecting their total confidence in Sarawak government’s business friendly policy as well as the State government’s ability to contain Covid-19.
Almost all of the 13,700 workforce in Sama Jaya had been vaccinated with the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine under the Industrial Vaccination Center (PPVIN) programme.
Sama Jaya High Tech Park exported RM6.93 billion worth of goods in 2020, an increase of 27.5 per cent from 2019 (RM5.43 billion).
