KUCHING, May 16: The enhanced Malaysia My Second Home (MM2H) programme is attracting growing interest from Singapore’s affluent and mobile community, said Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture Dato Sri Tiong King Sing.
In a Facebook post yesterday (May 15), Tiong shared that he was honoured to attend the ‘Maybank Premier MM2H – Your Gateway to Malaysia’ promotional event held at Maybank Tower in Singapore, which brought together over 200 participants across morning and evening sessions.
He thanked Maybank and its Singapore team for carefully organising what he described as a strategically significant engagement.
“This was more than just a seminar. It served as a bridge between aspirations and opportunities, and underscoring our shared commitment to strengthening connectivity and driving Southeast Asia’s collective prosperity,” he said.
Tiong stressed that Malaysia and Singapore are not competitors, but complementary partners. He cited joint initiatives such as the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone (JS-SEZ) and the Forest City Special Financial Zone (SFZ) as examples of how both nations are working together to build integrated regional value chains by leveraging their shared strengths.
For Singaporean entrepreneurs, professionals, and families, Malaysia offers not only more space and lower living costs, but also strong infrastructure, deep cultural ties, and a policy environment closely aligned with Singapore.
“Our enhanced MM2H programme is evolving into one of the world’s premier long-term residency platforms, offering Platinum, Gold, and Silver tiers to cater to the diverse needs of high-net-worth individuals, families, retirees, and digital nomads.
“It is more than a visa—it is a comprehensive lifestyle proposition encompassing premium living standards, internationally accredited healthcare, quality education, safety, and seamless ASEAN connectivity,” he added.
Tiong also highlighted ongoing efforts to enhance the programme’s transparency, streamline processes, and ensure it stays agile in response to global trends.
He warmly invited Singaporeans not only to visit Malaysia, but to consider making it a strategic base for business and life. The strong turnout at the event, he said, signals growing confidence in Malaysia as a long-term destination and partner in regional success. – DayakDaily
