Retiree collapses by roadside in Sibu, case classified as sudden death

SIBU, July 26: A retiree was found dead at the roadside of Jalan Saga, off Jalan Lanang today.

Sibu District Police Chief ACP Stanley Jonathan Ringgit said at about 8.30am, Lanang Police Station received a call from a member of the public concerning the body of a man.

A police team team rushed to the scene and found the body of a 61-year old man lying motionless by the roadside.


“There were scratch marks on his right eye, right eyebrow and right chest which were inflicted when he fell down,” he said.

Stanley said CCTV footage from a petrol station showed that the deceased was walking from the direction of the town direction to Upper Lanang when he suddenly collapsed and fell down.

The police have ruled out foul play and classified the case as sudden death. — DayakDaily
