PBK Teo: Post Covid-19 Development Strategy 2030 is just “Election candy”

PBK potential candidate for Pending constituency Teo Kuang Kim.

KUCHING, July 26: Parti Bumi Kenyalang (PBK) potential candidate for Pending constituency Teo Kuang Kim opined the recent announcement of the Post Covid-19 Development Strategy 2030 (PCDS 2030) is more of an election talk.

According to Teo, the grand plan of Sarawak’s PCDS 2030 totally overlooked the predicament of the people who are suffering from the pandemic of Covid-19.

The plan, according to Neo, did not provide any hope in sight while at the same time, there was discussion on the more critical issues of getting back the rights of Sarawak and self-determination.

“What the people need now are jobs, food aid, financial aid and security to get over this critical period and many people may not be able to wait for another 10 years to see and enjoy the fruits of this grand plan,” he said in a statement today.

Two further pointed out that the PCDS 2030 also did not address the distribution of wealth as well as how to lift Sarawak out as one of the poorest states in the country.

“This includes other issues such as how to stop young people from seeking jobs overseas, affordable housing and employment both in the private and government sectors.

Amid criticism, Teo applauded the PCDS 2030 with the target of achieving a modern and advanced Sarawak with high income per capita, covering four core targets and seven strategic territories for economic advancement, which is understood to be implemented from current 12th Malaysia Plan to be continued until 2030.

“Nevertheless, I sincerely hope that this grand plan which has yet to be proven will not fall into another disappointment,” he said. — DayakDaily
