Rainforest in the City launched in run-up to RWMF

KUCHING, July 2: The Kuching Amphitheatre has come alive with beautiful immersive light installations, dazzling projections and entrancing music across the outdoor courtyard, guiding visitors to the heart of the Rainforest in the City.

As part of the on-going Visit Sarawak Campaign 2019 and in the run-up to the Rainforest World Music Festival (RWMF), this event promises to mesmerise city visitors with the hypnotic beauty and sounds of the rainforest until July 11.

Minister of Tourism, Arts, Culture, Youth and Sports Datuk Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, who launched the Rainforest in the City event tonight, urged all Kuchingnites from near and far not to miss the chance to unwind with and experience this extraordinary event with families and friends.

The visual and art elements of this event comprises four main installations; Forest Projection Mapping, LED Tree, Tunnel of Life and LED Light Balls.

The Forest Projection Mapping serves to re-imagine nature by using trees as a canvas to artfully blend visuals of Sarawak’s cultural elements.
LED light balls illuminate the outdoor courtyard of Kuching Amphitheatre.
The Tunnel of Life guides visitors into the heart of the Rainforest in the City.

The major showcase also aims to enhance the hype and awareness of the RWMF which will be held on July 12-14.

The Rainforest in the City is scheduled to start at 7.30pm until 11pm every night until July 11 and entrance is free.

Assistant Minister of Youth and Sports Datuk Snowdan Lawan, permanent secretary to the Ministry Hii Chang Kee and Sarawak Tourism Board chairman Datuk Abdul Wahab Aziz were also present. — DayakDaily
