KUCHING, Feb 7: Police have confirmed that former Sarawak Head of State (TYT) Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud is currently at Demak Jaya, his private residence in Petra Jaya here.
The matter was confirmed by Sarawak police commissioner Datuk Mancha Ata.
“Yes, Tun is at his own residence in Kuching,” he said when asked by reporters about the whereabouts of the former TYT.
Mancha added that eight police reports have been received so far.
“However, we cannot reveal everything yet because it is still under investigation,” he explained.
Earlier today, Mancha officiated the launching ceremony of the Chinese New Year Ops Selamat at the Sarawak police contingent headquarters here.
On Monday (Feb 5), a police report was made against Toh Puan Raghad Kurdi Taib, the wife of the former TYT, for allegedly removing her husband from a private hospital here on Saturday (Feb 3).
Following that, several police reports have also been made including among members of Taib’s own family.
Raghad also issued an open letter to Sarawakians on Monday, urging them to stop making assumptions and accusations about her, as her only concern is her husband’s well-being. — DayakDaily
