Cops investigating report filed against Raghad for allegedly removing Taib from hospital

KUCHING, Feb 5: Police are currently investigating a report filed against Toh Puan Raghad Kurdi Taib, the wife of former governor Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud, for allegedly removing Taib from a private hospital here on Saturday (Feb 3).

Sarawak police commissioner Datuk Mancha Ata confirmed in a statement issued today that the police had received a report on the incident.

“The case is being investigated under Section 336 of the Penal Code,” he said.


He also called on the public not to share or speculate on the issue as action could be taken against those sharing false information.

Mancha further warned that action can be taken under Section 500 of the Penal Code for defamation and Section 233 of the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 for online content that is obscene, indecent, false, menacing, or offensive in character with intent to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass another person. — DayakDaily
