KUCHING, Nov 2: Two individuals were detained under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for their dangerous ‘Superman’ stunt during Op Samseng Jalanan, which was carried out on Saturday night (Nov 1) at the Pehin Sri Adenan Satem Road here.
The ‘Superman’ stunt involves a motorcyclist lying flat on their stomach across the seat, stretching out their arms and legs to mimic Superman’s flying pose.
In a statement, the Padawan District Police Headquarters (IPD) said the operation, which was carried out from 10pm to 3am, saw the inspection of 120 motorcycles and 138 individuals.
As a result, 99 summonses were issued for various traffic offences, while ten motorcycles were seized.
Police also issued a stern warning to motorcyclists, especially teenagers, not to turn public roads into illegal racing tracks.
The public was also urged to provide information on street gang activities to help ensure the safety of all road users. — DayakDaily
