BELAGA, July 11: Visitors planning an exciting getaway to Belaga can book a stay at the Orang Ulu-inspired Daphne’s Homestay located in Sungai Dangan here.
The homestay has become a tourist favorite especially among those who want to spend time with their families and participate in various interesting activities.
According to a report by Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas), the homestay is operated by Pemanca Joseph Unak Akah from Uma Aging in Long Daah.
It is located 25 minutes away from Pekan Belaga via Jalan Bukit Jayong which is a fully paved road.
“What makes Daphne’s Homestay very attractive is that the accommodation is built in the form of an Orang Ulu longhouse.
“It provides 10 bedrooms where two rooms are equipped with a large bed and its own bathroom with rental rates as low as RM60 per room. The other eight rooms are equipped with two single-beds without bathroom.
“However, bathroom facilities are available at the end of the lodge for the convenience of visitors with the rental rate for these eight rooms is as low as RM50 per room,” Ukas reported.
Additionally, the homestay also provides a separate cooking space for Muslims and non-Muslims as well as a BBQ facility.
Daphne’s Homestay also participates in the Dangan River Tagang System where fishing activity is prohibited in the area but the visitors are allowed to feed the fish and kayak on the river.
The homestay is also suitable to hold programmes such as meetings or seminars because the large area is suitable for large gatherings.
