KUCHING, March 13: Parti Bansa Dayak Sarawak (PBDS) urges the police to investigate against the woman who the party claims to be inciting others to commit violent religious acts against those of different religions.

Its president Bobby William said the party will lodge a police report against this woman who has on a social media page, shows a live video venting her anger against the High Court’s ruling for allowing Christians to use some words including “Allah”.

“She has gone against the Rukun Negara upon which the pillars and foundations of our country has been built upon. She has gone against the spirit of MA63 (Malaysia Agreement 1963) which clearly spelt out that Sarawak has no official religion.

“She has shown disrespect towards the judgement of the High Court and is therefore in contempt of the Court of Law of Malaysia,” said Bobby in a statement today.

With that, he strongly urged the police to investigate this woman and to put a gag order on her to stop her from further influencing the public.

Bobby said PBDS will be lodging a police report under Seditious Act 1948, Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 and the Penal Code, in hope that the woman would be dealt with according to the laws of the country.

In the almost 13-minute live session on March 11, the woman who called herself “Puteri” claimed to be disappointed with the High Court’s decision to allow the use of word “Allah” in Christian Bibles and prayers.

She said this has posed a threat to the position of Islam in the country and that the usage of word “Allah” is an exclusive right for Muslims.

Kuala Lumpur High Court had on March 10 ruled that the non-Muslim community may use the word “Allah” in their preaching and publications.

The High Court said the community can also use the words “Baitullah”, “Kaabah” and “solat” for teaching purposes which the Malaysian government has banned for 35 years.— DayakDaily
