One injured after two houses go up in smoke at Kampung Sungai Midin

KUCHING, April 4: One individual with disability (OKU) suffered from burns in a fire incident that razed two houses in Kampung Sungai Midin, Samariang here last night.

Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operation centre in a statement today said they received a call regarding the incident at 10.57pm and a team of firefighters from Petra Jaya fire station, supported by Padungan fire station was deployed.

“Operation commander arriving at the location reported that the incident involved two single-storey houses which were completely destroyed and caused one of the victims, who is an OKU to sustain burns on the shoulder,” it said.


The statement added the rest of the occupants in both houses were unharmed and managed to escape to safety.

PKPgB Azaharul Sahari (BBP Petra Jaya) and PKPgB Latif Iring (Senior Operations Commander) were also on the ground to monitor the situation. — DayakDaily
