KUCHING, Jan 3: Entertainment joints such as nightclubs or pubs are still prohibited to  operate despite Sarawak’s entery into Phase 4 of the National Rehabilitation Plan (PPN) today.

The Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (JPBNS) in its latest Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) release said these business establishments remain on the negative list.

Other entertainment centres that do not meet the licence requirements set by the local authorities are to continue to remain closed.

“Also on the negative list are open activities that involve crowds and mass gatherings that make it difficult for participants to keep physical social distancing.

“For example, activities such as fun run, fun ride, marathon, twrailthon and so on will not be allowed without the approval of the Sarawak Ministry of Youth and Sports (KBSS),” said SDMC.

SDMC continues to disallow activities that cause people to gather at a place, that may cause participants to compromise social distancing or lead to failure to comply with the instructions of the Director General of Health.  – DayakDaily
