Business as usual: Operating hour limits lifted for all economic sectors and activities

The new SOP for Phase 4 of the NRP for Sarawak released by SDMC today.

KUCHING, Jan 3: There will be no operation hour limit for all economic sectors and activities starting today following Sarawak’s transition into Phase 4 of the National Recovery Plan (NRP).

According to Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) newly released standard operating procedures (SOPs), the operation of all sectors and activities is permitted in accordance with the terms of the licences that have been issued (unless specifically stated).

The committee also announced that cross-district travel is also permitted, while the inter-state travel is subject to the conditions set by SDMC based on the Entry into Sarawak SOPs.


This is applicable for all official duties, permitted services, medical purposes, buying of daily necessities or medicines, vaccine appointments as well as all permitted activities under the SOPs.

For cross-district traveling, all travellers must complete two doses of Covid-19 vaccination.

Meanwhile, high risk individuals and children below the age of 12-year old are not encouraged to go into public, open and crowded areas unless they are accompanied by parents or guardians who have completed their Covid-19 inoculation. – DayakDaily.
