KUCHING, Oct 16: Low-cost carrier MYAirline’s licence will be suspended temporarily, says Transport Minister Anthony Loke.

He noted that the company still exists but it is suspending operations while looking for investors, The Star reported.

“It’s a commercial issue but from the side of the authorities, we will be suspending their licence temporarily,” Loke told reporters after an event at Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) in Kuala Lumpur today.

He also mentioned that Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM) is expected to announce the matter in detail later today.

It was also reported that MYAirline is expected to hold a press conference on the same day, to give an explanation and guarantees to their passengers and staff.

On Oct 12, MYAirline cited financial pressures as the reason for abruptly suspending its operations with immediate effect until further notice. — DayakDaily
