KUCHING, May 12: Malaysian United Democratic Alliance (MUDA) Sarawak has launched its ‘Misi Turun Kerja’ initiative to assist in promoting small traders and their products.

Its chairman Jeffery Ngui said the initiative would be carried out on the weekends.

“I will go to the ground to work as a one-day employee for free to assist local traders,” he said in a statement today.

For the pilot project, MUDA Sarawak’s office will collaborate with Tiara Natasha’s team who are selling nasi lemak at Matang Jaya bus stop.

Ngui further appealed to local communities in Petra Jaya, Kuching and Santubong to come and support the traders by purchasing the RM1 nasi lemak this Saturday (May 13) at the venue.

“Every purchase of RM5 will get a free recycling bag as a promotion for customers who come to support this initiative.

“With this kind of promotion, MUDA Sarawak hopes that more local communities will come to support small entrepreneurs who sell local products,” he added. — DayakDaily
