KUCHING, Feb 2: Minister of Education Fadhlina Sidek has urged parents to report to the Ministry of Education (MOE) if the Early Schooling Aid (BAP) is cut short by school management.

According to a news report from TV Sarawak (TVS) today, Fadhlina said this is to ensure that parents receive the BAP assistance of RM150 intended for each student.

“The amount should not be slashed and it must be received by the student’s parents. Hopefully it will help to ease their burden,” she said when met by reporters during a Chinese New Year Celebration and handing over of BAP 2024 ceremony held at SMK Yu Hua in Selangor today.

Yesterday, Deputy Education Minister Wong Kah Woh was reported to have said that no complaints or reports have been received involving the cutting of BAP assistance by schools since it was distributed nationwide starting Jan 10.

According to Wong, a total of RM788.17 million BAP has been allocated to 5.5 million students across the country which is expected to be distributed by Feb 10. — DayakDaily
