KUCHING, April 11: A motorcyclist was killed after being involved in a car accident at Jalan Batu Kitang, here last night.
Padawan district acting police chief DSP Lim Jaw Shyong said the victim, a 24-year-old man, was a member of the army and had an address from Kampung Batu Kitang Jaya, Jalan Batu Kitang.
He said that the victim was believed to be travelling from the direction of Bau towards Kuching at around 12 midnight.
“The accident is believed to have occurred when the victim, who was travelling towards Kuching, suddenly lost control and skidded, hitting a lamp post on the left shoulder of the road.
“The victim was confirmed dead at the scene of the accident due to severe head injuries,” he said in a statement yesterday (April 10).
Further investigations regarding the accident are still being conducted under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
“We are calling for any witnesses who saw the incident to help the investigation,” he said. — DayakDaily
