Meradong rep donates RM76,000 worth of medical equipment to Sarikei Hospital

KUCHING, April 30: Meradong assemblyman Datuk Ding Kuong Hiing donated medical equipment worth RM76,000 to Sarikei Hospital to help facilitate frontliners’ duty.

According to a report from the Chief Minister’s Department’s Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas) today, Ding, who is also Malaysian Red Crescent (MRC) Sarikei District chairman, said since the spread of the Covid-19 into Sarikei the number of cases continues on rising.

“It is hoped that the donation will help ease their burden and at the same time assist the medical officers in carrying out their duties,” he said.


The donation comprises two units of ‘Patient Monitor’ (worth RM16,000), four units of  ‘Vital Sign Monitor’ (RM19,200), six units of ‘Infusion Pump’ (RM20,400) and six units of ‘Syringe Pump (RM20,400).

The medical equipment, which is used to monitor the health or condition of Covid-19 patients, was presented during a simple ceremony at the hospital yesterday (April 29).

Ding also conveyed his gratitude to the frontliners for their sacrifices in efforts to curb the spread of Covid-19. — DayakDaily
