Meanwhile, Yii said, MCC also launches its ‘E Submission for Building Control System’ for the online submission of building plans and Occupation Permit (OP) applications.

It would be utilised by Qualified Submitting Person (QSP) and has the advantage of improved convenience, speed and cost-savings.

“It is also meant to enhance our internal work processes in this particular aspect through the conversion of the current manual process into a new, more advanced and effective digitalised process,” he said.

According to Yii, the implementation of ‘E Submission” will be trialled for three months beginning in March.

Training sessions for the building control system with QSPs will also be held virtually through Zoom.

“In connection with this, we hope that by the end of this year, we can see some new initiatives being put in place under Phase 2 of the Miri Smart City Programme development.

“Currently, the council is still scrutinising some of the viable proposals being put up,” Yii said. — DayakDaily
