KUCHING, March 14: The water fun park project at the Kuching South City Council (MBKS) swimming pool is expected to be opened for tender by the end of this year, says mayor Dato Wee Hong Seng.
He said the project site plan was submitted to the Land and Survey Department last week and is awaiting approval.
“Hopefully the site plan and proposal can be approved before the next sitting, which I think should be within this month.
“By then, we can get all the documents ready, and we will call for tender. Hopefully we can speed things up and get it over with by end of this year.
“We can confirm the tender award by year-end and they can start work next year,” Wee told reporters this morning at Pending Recreational Park here.
Wee and other MBKS councillors including Kho Teck Wan, Chai Ju Loon and Bong Lian Huang were present for the Pending Recreational Park handover to MBKS from the contractor assigned to upgrade the facilities there.
The RM40 million project which also includes a Gastronomy Centre is scheduled to be completed by 2024 or before the next related meeting in 2024. — DayakDaily
