KUCHING, Nov 27: The establishment of Borneo Medical Centre (BMC) in Sarawak aligns with the government’s efforts to provide the best healthcare for the people.

According to a news report from Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas) today, Kuching South City Council (MBKS) mayor Dato Wee Hong Seng said that the opening of BMC in 2013 is timely considering that Sarawak General Hospital (HUS) now has to accommodate a large number of patients.

“Without this effort, the people will not be able to enjoy medical facilities and the best healthcare.

“Therefore, the private sector’s initiative to open a medical centre is something that the government welcomes,” he said during BMC’s 10th Anniversary celebration at a local hotel on Sunday (Nov 26).

He said that BMC also provides health care services that meet the high expectations of the people as the population in Kuching is increasing.

He also said other private medical practitioners should emulate the establishment of BMC by forming a group to establish and operate a hospital. — DayakDaily
