Man positive for Covid-19 visited Kuching on Feb 16

A brief update for Covid-19 cases recorded in Malaysia on March 3, 2020.

KUCHING, March 3: A 58-year-old man who had travelled to Kuching to attend a meeting on Feb 16 tested positive for Covid-19 yesterday (March 2).

He was among the seven new Covid-19 cases reported in Malaysia today (March 3), bringing the national total to 36 cases.

According to the Ministry of Health in a statement, the patient is currently warded at Hospital Sungai Buloh in Selangor.

All the seven cases are Malaysians who were close contacts of Case 26, a 52-year-old man who had travelled to Shanghai, China in mid-January.

The seven cases were identified through contact tracing and are currently all in stable condition.

The ministry added that contact tracing for Case 26 is still ongoing.

Meanwhile, 22 of the 36 confirmed cases have been cured and discharged from hospitals while 14 are still receiving treatment. —DayakDaily
