SARATOK: A 42-year-old man was killed after the Perodua Bezza he was driving crashed along the Pan Borneo Highway between Saratok and Sri Aman early this morning.
According to the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), the department received a distress call at 7.02am, with personnel from the Saratok station arriving at the scene six minutes later.
The accident involved a single vehicle, with the victim, identified as Freddie Isa, found inside the Perodua Bezza.
Fire and rescue personnel used rescue equipment and ropes to stabilise the vehicle before removing the victim. A cervical collar was also fitted on the victim before he was taken out of the vehicle using a stretcher.
However, a Ministry of Health medical officer at the scene subsequently pronounced the victim dead.
The operation was declared under control at 7.54am. — DayakDaily
