BINTULU, Feb 23: A 56-year-old man was found motionless in a tree near the Bintulu public library this afternoon.
Firefighters were alerted by members of the public about the incident at 1pm.
Upon arrival at the scene, the firefighters found the man identified as Wan Sadina Wan Maulana in an unconscious state.
“Using ladder and stretcher, they successfully extricated the man from the tree and brought him down to the ground.
“The man was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel. The body was later handed over to the police for further action,” said Bintulu fire station chief TPgB I Christus Buson in a statement today.
Firefighters completed the operation at 1.45pm.
It was understood that the deceased was trimming the tree when he fell unconscious. — DayakDaily
