KUCHING, May 28: An unemployed man was fined RM1,500 in default 1 month’s jail by the Magistrate’s Court here today for voluntarily assisting to dispose of stolen property.
Awang Ahmad Awang Sahari, 59, from Jalan Kwong Lee Bank, pleaded guilty before Magistrate Mohd Syukri Mokhtar to voluntarily assisting in the disposing of three stolen cooking gas cylinders belonging to Za’aba Wahap at Chin Yap Economy Market at about 9am on May 22, 2019.
He was charged under Section 414 of the Penal Code, which carries maximum imprisonment of 7 years or with fine or with both, if convicted.
