KUCHING, May 28: Relive fond childhood memories and make new ones with arguably the world’s most famous cat — Doraemon — at VivaCity Megamall here this school and festive holidays.
This immersive event is brought here by Animation International (M) Sdn Bhd in collaboration with Sarawak Multimedia Authority (SMA).
From now until June 30, visitors, families and children, especially Doraemon enthusiasts, will be able to immerse themselves visiting the 4,000 square-foot cashless pop-up store on the Concourse of the mall.
Also, get your cameras ready for the 43 lifesize Doraemon figurines, with each holding a gadget from the comic books such as the Head Copters and Memory Bread on display at the pop-up exhibition.
Animation International director Steve Chow highlighted that the main theme of Doraemon anime and manga series was friendship.
“The cartoon was created as a fun way for kids to learn how to read and in turn develop their cognitive skills while playing,” he said at the launch of the Doraemon Pop-up Store at the mall today.
“So we hope to create the same magical feeling of genuine happiness, togetherness and bonding to enable visitors to strengthen family values by spending time together at this Doraemon event.”
There will be a line-up of fun, exciting and educational activities happening at the mall throughout the event period to foster interest in science and technology among children.
Don’t forget to snap some exclusive Doraemon merchandises such as plush toys, bottles, mugs, notebooks, umbrellas, t-shirts, stickers, keychains and many other cute mementoes to bring home as well.
In addition, visitors can enjoy a 10 per cent discount on all items when they pay at the pop-up store with a secure, fast and convenient mobile e-wallet and digital payment via the Sarawak Pay app.
The app is available for users to download via the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
